Sustainable at Wisps of Wool Retreat

Sustainability Statement

At Wisps of Wool, sustainability is woven into everything we do. From the ground up, we are committed to protecting our natural environment, honouring cultural heritage, and supporting our local community. We operate with respect for the land and its stories, including those of the Traditional Owners, and take active steps to preserve and share this wisdom.

Our sustainable practices include:

  • Solar-powered living: Our use of solar panels helps reduce our carbon footprint and harness clean, renewable energy.

  • Eco-conscious accommodation: We use energy-efficient appliances, eco-friendly materials, and natural ventilation and lighting throughout the property.

  • Pure water supply: Guests enjoy artesian water sourced from deep underground.

  • Low-impact land management: Tree planting, responsible fencing, and rotational grazing help regenerate soil and protect native wildlife habitats.

  • Waste reduction and composting: Food scraps feed our animals, and guests are encouraged to recycle in the provided yellow bin and the can and bottle recycling station

  • Supporting local: We source products and services from nearby producers and artisans, keeping our footprint small and our community strong.

  • Cultural connection: We work closely with local Indigenous elders and community leaders to ensure respectful, inclusive engagement.

  • Conservation-minded: We actively engage to converse our environment and promote biodiversity through native planting and habitat protection.

At Wisps of Wool, we believe that true luxury lies in connection — to self, to others, and to the land. Sustainability isn’t just a practice; it’s our purpose.

Honouring Australia’s First Nations People and Cultural Heritage

With deep respect and in the spirit of reconciliation, we work to preserve cultural heritage. Prior to building, a Welcome to Country ceremony led by Wolithiga Elder Rick Ronan, celebrated our commitment to care for this land’s ancient legacy, enriching the experience of all who visit Wisps of Wool Retreat.
