Your stay
Wisps of Wool Retreat is a place to soften.
Set between bush and farmland, with the river just a short walk away, the house holds a calm, grounded energy that invites you to slow down naturally.
Mornings begin with birdsong and soft light across the trees, maybe a fresh-brewed coffee and collecting eggs from the chook pen.
Days unfold without urgency, whether that means reading on the veranda, soaking in the outdoor bath or heated plunge pool, walking to the river, or simply doing very little at all.
Evenings bring a different kind of stillness, long conversations, shared meals, and the quiet beauty of sunset settling across the land.
This is not a place filled with activities. It is a place that gives you back to yourself.

Watching the landscape unfold from a train window, feeling the distance from your everyday responsibilities grow, arriving without the need to navigate, park, or plan.
This experience invites you into that shift.

A gentle return to town
On your final morning, your experience continues with ease.
After a slow breakfast, you will be returned to Echuca, where your luggage will be taken care of, allowing you to explore freely.
Wander the riverfront.
Browse local shops.
Enjoy a long lunch at one of Echuca’s cafes.
For something special, you may wish to experience the river aboard a traditional Murray or Echuca paddle steamer, a timeless way to take in the Murray.
When it’s time to head home, your bags will be waiting for you at the station, ready for a seamless departure.
Getting to and from Wisps of Wool Retreat by train
Travelling from Melbourne to Echuca without a car is simple and comfortable using V/Line train services.
The 11:02am train departs from Southern Cross Station and arrives into Echuca at 2:03pm, making it an ideal daytime journey for a relaxed, car-free country escape.
On arrival, you will be personally collected from Echuca Station and taken to your preferred local supermarket to pick up your pre-ordered click and collect groceries, allowing you to organise your food selections in advance, either before departure or during your journey.
From there, you will be transferred directly to Wisps of Wool Retreat, arriving in time to settle in, unwind, and enjoy the sunset across the surrounding paddocks.
No car is required at any stage of your stay, with transfers and local logistics thoughtfully taken care of.
Your stay concludes with a gentle and unhurried return.
On Saturday afternoon, after a day in town, you will be given your lugguage at Echuca Station in time to board the 4:07pm V/Line train.The service arrives into Southern Cross Station at 7:29pm, allowing for a smooth and comfortable journey home.
Returning on Saturday evening means you can enjoy Sunday at your own pace, giving you time to rest, reset, and gently prepare for the week ahead.
